Green building is the practice of creating structures
that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient. This not only includes the use of environmental friendly and energy efficient building materials and techniques but also the most efficient use of the lot, an energy efficient design, maintenance, renovation and reconstruction. Green building is also known as a sustainable or high performance building and a structure that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient.
Surprisingly, good green buildings often cost only a few percentage points or no more to build than conventional designs but they use 30% less energy on average than conventional buildings. Additionally there might be numerous sources of funding for green building available at the national, state and local levels for homeowners, industry, government organizations and nonprofits.
Since we where already involved in the building industry when the green building trend became extremely popular in Europe in the early 80's we do have valuable insights in the green building ideas, techniques and industry. Therefore we are the perfect source for all our clients to find or build a green building or energy efficient home.
Green buildings can be build in many different styles and designs. They could be build as log homes, homes in traditional style, or have a modern and contemporary design.
