The Greenville Little Theatre proudly presents Anton in Show Business, the first performance of the 2008/09 season in its Studio 444 Series. Studio 444 is the Greenville Little Theatre's 'studio' theatre -an alternative to GLT's mainstage productions.
'Anton in Show Business' is a comic look at the inner workings of theatre, and what happens when you stick a fading TV star, an off-off Broadway veteran, and a bright eyed newbie together. In this witty comedy, these three actresses pursue their dreams of performing Chekhov's The Three Sisters in a regional theatre in Texas. Caroline Davis, Catalina Keller, and Rebecca Ragland perform in these lead roles and are joined by a talented cast including Roberta Barnes, Katy Beth Cassell, Stephanie Downing, Juanita Murphy, and April Schaeffer. Directed by GLT's Associate Director, Reed Halvorson, Anton was the winner of the 2001 American Theatre Critics / Steinberg New Play Award. This show is not recommended for children under 13.

Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Professional Championships
More than 100 professional cyclists roll into Greenville on Labor Day weekend for the time trials and road races of the USA Cycling Professional Championships. Time trial riders try out a new 18.7-mile course and road race riders compete on a 110-mile road course beginning and ending in downtown Greenville and climbing over Paris Mountain in between. Greenville's George Hincapie was the 2006 road race champion, and 2006 and 2007 time trial champion David Zabriskie will return this year to defend his title.
